The Sweetest Sound

June 10, 2010 goes down in history as one of my best days ever.

Momma...MomMomMomMomma (In Cruz sweetest voice)

We were sitting on the couch & he just started saying it over & over. Of course Chad was not in here so I kept trying to get him to say it again so Chad could hear & I could have official bragging rights. The little turkey would not say it again for Chad to hear! Then later that night out of no where he started again....MomMomMomMom....Chad could not believe it! Then when he woke up at 3:00 that morning & I went in there he started saying it again.

Thank you Lord for a happy healthy precious little boy.

Blogger vs Facebook

I have not blogged lately because it is hard to keep up with this & Facebook.

Cruz said he would help though!

Thoughts on immunizations...

Is there anything that can make you smile faster than a laughing child or break your heart as quickly as a crying one?

Cruz had his 6 month check up yesterday. Along with the check up came immunizations. Along with immunizations came tears.

As much medical advancement that is out there why can't immunizations be given in an oral form! Why painful, tearful shots!

Mother's Day

Now I finally understand. The love for a child is like no other love. I have love for so many people in my life. But there is no love like the love I have for Cruz. A child is the best gift God could ever give to us. And now I understand how much love my Mom has for me. I understand why she goes out of her way to do nice things. I finally understand.

Happy Mother's Day to my best friend!

I love you Mom!

Van Gogh Quote

"If one feels the need of something grand, something infinite, something that makes one feel aware of God, one need not go far to find it. I think that I see something deeper, more infinite, more eternal than the ocean in the expression of the eyes of a little baby when it wakes in the morning and coos or laughs because it sees the sun shining on its cradle."

Week 1 Menu - Peas = Yummy

Week 2 Menu - Green Beans = YUCKY

Week 2 Revised Menu - Carrots = Yummy

Roll Over

This past Wednesday we FINALLY saw Cruz roll over. He has done it behind our backs several times but we finally saw him do it...and I was really excited we saw him do it together. I was afraid someone was going to see him before I did. I did not have the camera handy so all I got was the end of the performance.

Thanks Aunt Judy for my quilt...

As you can see I have been getting a lot of use out of it!

Green Thumb

I do not consider myself a "yard person." Although, I do take pride in how well my husband maintains the yard.
Chad's GaGa (who passed away) was known as the "Rose Lady" because of the quantity and quality of the roses she grew and cared for. For those of you who do not know...having a rose bush that bears fruit (yes, a rose is a fruit) takes a good bit of time and knowledge. I don't have either of those but I think GaGa watches over my rose bush. This is what my Dolly Parton rose bush looks like this week.

Family Time

"The love of a family is
life's greatest blessing"

This weekend was spent with some of our favorite people....Our family. We are simple. Sitting around, cooking, eating, & laughing is what makes us happy.

As Cruz & I shopped at Hobby Lobby with MiMi we found this little guy...
& Cruz gave MiMi "the eyes" and no matter the cost of the duck we WERE NOT leaving Hobby Lobby without him. This is Cruz today as he fell asleep with the newest duck in our family...

This is my new favorite picture of my boys...

Lights

Growing up my Dad always fussed at me for leaving lights on when I left a room. Move out, get married, pay my own electricity bill = Don't have to hear about that anymore.

YEAH RIGHT

My husband fusses about this same thing! I turn the light switch on in the bathroom yesterday morning and 3 of the 4 light bulbs are out! Coincidence....I think not. My husband, the comedian, unscrewed them to prove a point. Ugh...now I have to think of something to get back at him!

Any ideas?

Easter 2010

Cruz slept right thru dying eggs

Bunny Pictures at Babycakes

Cruz's 1st Easter has come and gone. The Easter grass was a big hit. I am thinking for next year we will just give him a basket of grass. His 2nd favorite thing was a singing bunny from Aunt Renea. "Hip Hop Hippty Hop" was in my head all week after hearing this bunny over and over again. Lucky for us Cruz cannot push buttons yet. It was a cute bunny though.

Although the spring weather has been beautiful the pollen has kept all with sinus problems. Poor Cruz is fighting watery eyes and a runny nose. I am ready for the allergy weather to pass. Then when it passes I will complain about how hot it is :)

I hope this is not my new addiction...

I have decided to start a blog. I keep up with a few blogs...some of people I know and some of strangers. I hope to use this as a way to journal my life and maybe make a few other people smile along the way. I have decided I am addicted to facebook so I really hope this blog does not become my new addiction.
